Beautiful property and amazing staff, Annexe immaculately clean however very dated.. we got a 4 poster bed which was unfortunately uncomfortable as mattress very hard, could do with a nice topper. Also tiny TV for the size of the room.
Staff are absolutely amazing, service and breakfast absolutely beautiful. Would come back if bed was more comfy

Rooms were exactly what was “on the tin” (photos).
Clean and fresh as were the stairs and landing areas
Carpets nice and new looking and freshly decorated.
Emma & Anthony were very nice people and were eager
to please and most helpful. Nothing to much trouble.
This charming family-run hotel has a great restaurant and a wonderful, peaceful location on Whitby’s West Cliff, near the seafront and within walking distance of the town centre.

We enjoyed our meals which were reasonably priced. The staff were relaxed and very friendly. We enjoyed the view from our room and the hotel location especially for crabbing. The hot drinks and biscuits in our room were plentiful and of good quality.

Plenty to see and do in Whitby and the surrounding areas. Beautiful beach. Lots of opportunity for walking, hiking and exploring. Wonderful and interesting history.
North Yorkshire Moors are absolutely stunning with lots of beautuful villages to visit. We particularly liked Goathland. Would recommend a visit to Robin Hood Bay Saltburn by the sea and Staithes
Would highly recommend Whitby for a visit.

Very nice historic fishing village I would visit again.
Very nice historic fishing village I would visit again. Abby and Captain cook museum is worth a visit. I had mussels and fish and chips at Mister Fish and Chips and it was all very good. Whitby is quite hilly but easy to get around. A train trip on the Yorkshire Moors railway is a must. I wish I had stayed a bit longer than over night.

I would advise the Park and ride as Whitby is a nightmare to park. We parked at the P&R and got an all day family bus ticket for £5:20, for the length of time we were there i think it would have cost much more to park. Whitby is a great place but, shops seem to be closing down, not a lot but they are closing.

typical seaside fishing town easier to use local park and ride cheaper than car parking in the town very clean beach was nice and clean sand more pebbly near harbour the fish and chips for which it is famous was very expensive compered to other nearby towns ,ie £16 average for fish and chips in Whitby .£12 for fish/chips and peas in nearby Scarborough
The Captain's Rest is a cosy pied à terre located in the heart of Whitby: a perfect location in terms of accessing the vibrant heart of Whitby. The accommodation is more than adequate like a hotel room (but much larger). It is very good value for money. The room has a fridge and kettle etc Wi-Fi and TV and excellent storage space plus a desk! The system for accessing the property was very good but took some "getting used to." There is a public car park literally 30 metres from the property which costs £9 for 24 hours.
The room was spacious and comfy. Well provided for in terms of tea, coffee etc too. Exceedingly clean and well presented. The staff were amazing and had all the little extra touches to make things special. The hotel itself is really bright and airy, a nice place to be in. The food was very nice with a different menu each day, good choices for everyone and all of great taste and presentation. I stayed here for work and would definitely come back when I'm next in Whitby.
The Overdale was very clean.
There was a big attention to detail in how the room was presented; it's decor fitted the Victorian feel of the house
so all worked really well.
We had a lovely few days in Whitby which part of it, was down to our comfortable & clean accomodation.
It was lovely to talk to Jane our host, she was very informative re.places to go in Whitby.
Great to have a parking space too.
This was an impressive holiday home near the centre of Whitby. There is an abundance of space to relax and enjoy this truly smartly dressed home, with a convenient private drive/parking space right outside the front door. The lovely enclosed garden was a perfect sun trap for some alfresco dining. Plus the added bonus of a sumptuous soak in the hot-tub after a long walk in town. Perfect in every way!
Spectacular view of Whitby - the steps, the ruined abbey, the town, the harbour, the beach, the sea… wow!
I was lucky enough to find a brilliant pizzeria a few hundred yards away for my evening meal - Pizza West https://www.pizzawest.co.uk/ - which had friendly, welcoming staff, stylish decor and great food.
Breakfast at the hotel was good.
Room was comfortable and tv worked
Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Room was spacious and the location was fantastic - around a 10 minute walk into town, minutes from the beach, public parking opposite the hotel at £9 for 24 hours.
Whitby open air tour bus stopped outside (hop on/off service with history talks).
Restaurant/cafe easily accessible.
Rooms had gorgeous views.
Fan & hairdryer provided in room.
Beautiful apartment with original wooden floors sash bay windows and plenty of space for 4 adults and a couple of little dogs, host even left some milk, tea and coffee for our arrival. Parking is a bit of a nightmare expected really in a busy seaside resort with parking restrictions, but there is plenty of space a 10 min walk away. Would 100% stay again if I was in whitby thank you
Fabulous hotel, very attentive staff, comfortable room. We were given a room upgrade on arrival as it was my husbands birthday. Breakfast was lovely and the spa facilities were great. Very relaxing and quiet hotel, couldn’t hear any noise from other guests. Location was nice and peaceful but within easy reach of Whitby and Sandsend.
The room had a very good view of the sea and well-placed chairs. The bed was comfortable. The man at reception was able to give us very helpful information about parking and the hotel also provided a limited number of spaces. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of Whitby.
Great location albeit a bit sleep - but that's Whitby.
Lovely house with much work done to it to a very nice standard.
Nice amount of parking space.
Lovely comfortable large bedrooms and very nicely decorated.
Hot tub very nice and immaculately maintained.
Great location
This property offerred privacy and was better than most hotels or airbnbs that we have visited. It was decorated. It provided more than enough space due to having a living room and kitchenette and if I was going back to Whitby, I would not hesitate to return to the Loft.
Fantastic location. Could not fault. Beautiful old building, you could sense the history. Room was bright, clean, and overlooking the harbour and out to the abbey at the other side of the bay. Stunning. Great choice at breakfast of different meals to suit all tastes.
From the hotel quality bed to the modern bathroom and interesting decor alongside the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts and the view of the Abbey make this the perfect place to stay for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bat and the North Yorkshire Moors.
The food was excellent and well presented. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel was right in the middle of Whitby and within easy walking distant of most places.
